Receptionist Job Description

  1. receptionist/front office management which includes manning the front office, welcoming and attending to clients at all times, communication to visitors etc;
  2. personal support/assistance to the partners;
  3. supporting team members in making outward calls from the office;
  4. managing the schedule of boardrooms and meeting rooms for use by team members and clients;
  5. receiving, sorting, recording and distributing all incoming mail and documents deliveries;
  6. recording all documents dispatched from the office;
  7. office administration limited to ensuring cleanliness of the front office and an orderly presentation;
  8. composing routine correspondence as appropriate and as time allows;
  9. assisting the partners with the procurement of various firm goods and services from vendors and suppliers; and
  10. perform other duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position.

Experience

  1. At least two years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a mid-sized law firm.
  2. Basic computer skills and phone etiquette.
  3. Basic knowledge of the information flow and operations of a law firm.
  4. Basic drafting skills of letters and email correspondences.
  5. Basic record keeping skills.
  6. Basic knowledge of clerical practices, general office procedures, and filing.
  7. Sufficient human relations skills to communicate technical and sensitive communication to other team members.
